Many of you may or may not know this but pizza as we know it was created by mistake.
After construction of a free standing bell tower of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. The clergy decided to have a great feast for all the peasants and craftsmen that had helped to errect this great tower.
The tower began to sink,This was due to a mere three-metre foundation, set in weak, unstable subsoil, a design that was flawed from the beginning.
Mean while back in the kitchen the great chefs of the monastary were in full form with their culanary skills, when the tower began to tilt! "My Peperoni souffle" Cried the head cook.
It seems when the tower was tilted the chease peperoni sauce spilled onto the bread they had been baking.
When the workers smelled the food they forgot all about the tower leaning and rushed up to the kitchen and ate the first pizza in history.
